Literature about Maize

There is a rich and enormous body of literature about maize, the various varieties, their origins and the problems of breeding and selection. Yet we find little detailed analyses based on farmer accounts of their use, traits and preferences. We make a distinction on this website between literature that emanates from the Local Seeds Project and papers, books, chapters, master and PhD theses, working papers and project reports. The latter category till now is focused largely on papers about maize about Kenya and to provide a short summary. This category is under construction and we invite others to provide suggestions.
